On June 9, 2008 Executive Order 12989 was passed mandating Federal contractors and their subcontractors to use the E-Verify system administered by the Department of Homeland Security.
Several states have adopted the E-Verify system and mandate that they be used to ensure that all new employees are authorized to work in the United States.
A company using the E-Verify system whether it was voluntary or non-voluntary must post the Department of Homeland Security Anti-Discrimination Notice and the E-verify Notice.
